The closest regional hub is the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP), located just a beautiful 45-minute drive south of Cambria. It offers convenient daily flights connecting through major cities.
Driving from the South
Most guests travel up the US-101 North before transitioning to the iconic Highway 1 North in San Luis Obispo, winding through picturesque coastal hills right into town.
Driving from the North
Heading down from the Bay Area? The drive along Highway 1 through Big Sur is legendary. Local Tip: Highway 1 through Big Sur can occasionally experience seasonal closures, so we always recommend checking current Caltrans road conditions before finalizing your scenic route!
Getting Around the Village
Cambria is divided into two distinct, highly walkable areas: the East Village and the West Village, both brimming with boutique shops, galleries, and cafes. While you will love strolling through town or walking the Moonstone Beach boardwalk, we do recommend having a personal vehicle. Having your own car gives you the freedom to easily explore regional highlights like Hearst Castle, the elephant seal rookery, and the nearby Paso Robles wine country.
